Don’t pay over the odds for HMO cover.
House in Multiple Occupation (HMO).
A property rented out by at least 3 people who are not from 1 ‘household’ (for example a family) but share facilities like the bathroom and kitchen. It’s sometimes called a ‘house share’. This can be perceived as a high risk to insurer due to a decades view of sub standard shared accommodation. This is the not the case for Insurance-Desk as we fully understand the HMO market and have insurers who rate these as standard risks.
Todays shared housing, including Co-living, is often of a higher spec and lower claims risk due to many factors.
There is a vast variety of shared accommodation in todays market, of which we can look to quote all. Risk examples include (but not limited to):
- Social Housing
- Emergency Housing
- Co-Living
- Student Let
- Mixed Use:- Part AST & Short Term Rental
- 100% Short Term rental
- Bedsits (With Cooking in Rooms)
